Your Certificate of Analysis is valid for 365 days from the test date. Products cannot be sold after the COA expires. If your COA is approaching expiry you'll need to retest the batch before it can be sold. We track COA expiry dates for all clients using our label creation service.

Massachusetts allows a maximum of 5.5mg of THC per serving for edible products. The maximum per package is 110mg. Beverages are limited to a single serving per package with a maximum of 5.5mg THC total. These limits include the built-in 10% variable — your label must exactly match your COA with zero tolerance for variance.

At minimum, MA CCC requires: product name and identity, net weight (oz first then grams), THC percentage and mg amounts, batch/lot number, package date, COA date, licence number, required warning statements, the official MA universal symbol, the Not Safe for Kids symbol, and packager information. Edibles also require serving size, servings per package, ingredients list, and nutrition facts. Our label creation service ensures every required field is included.

The MA CCC requires operating licence renewals to be submitted at least 90 days before the expiration date. You'll receive automated reminders from MassCIP at 150, 120, 90, 60, and 30 days prior. Missing the 90-day window can result in your licence lapsing. Our licensing support service manages the full renewal process on your behalf.

Massachusetts requires two official symbols on all product labels: the "CONTAINS THC" symbol (red triangle with cannabis leaf) and the "NOT SAFE FOR KIDS" symbol (red octagon). Both must be the official MA CCC versions, displayed in colour, at a minimum of 1/16th inch. The regulations do not mandate a specific placement on the label — but both must be clearly visible.
